BSG Drinks
Okay, the Lay Down You Burdens is good, but strong. Recommend adding more milk, and taking a lactose pill beforehand. Choca-booza-holics rejoice! Needless to say, the super-sweet, fatty, adult beverages gave me a bit of a tummy ache. I recommend not drinking like 3 of the LDYB.
Ionian Nebula is like drinking cherry chocolate cough syrup. I do not recommend it at all. Or maybe buying a higher priced cherry brandy, or subbing half the cherry brandy for regular brandy. Something, anything. Gag. Down the drain.
Then john rushed out to buy us some orange soda so we could try a Knuckle Dragger. Quite tasty, and a refreshingly light drink after all the creamy sweetness.
Be advised: we made all of these shaken or on the rocks, because we were far far too lazy to bust out the blender. All our opinions should be taken with a big rim o' salt.
In non-BSG drinking news: I acquired the ingredients to make a Sidecar. I'm going to try making one tonight, and hopefully it will be my new favorite drink. I'm tired of only ordering Long Islands and Amaretto or Whiskey Sours.
I also got a copy of some video and pictures from a very fun drinking night in December. I'll re-watch it sober sometime this weekend and maybe post it for you to laugh at me.
I'm still working on not double-spacing after a sentence. Its harder to change than you might think. It appears that either Facebook or Blogger goes back and fixes it for me; odd.

Diapers
Also, apparently some car company is in with the Cylons, the background is just like the lights when the final 5 were revealed to the 3's.
I really need to pee right now.

It's 5 o'clock....now!
This week has been stressful. It started with registration and scheduling problems, and therefore stressing over my finances. The Husband filed his taxes, and we decided to file separately because I didn't have my W-2 ready. Also, he has had some breathing problems while running, and the chest x-ray showed cause for concern. The CT scan results are pending. I spent all day yesterday studying for a physics test, but still felt lost this morning when faced with Lenz' Law.
I went to the nearby H&R Block this afternoon, where they did a great job for me. I'm getting back way more than I thought, actually ALL of what I payed in last year. Very nice. Turns out I won't have to use my considerable "skills" to put myself through college. Not this year, anyway. This also means Rigel gets a play stand, long overdue, and I get to come home for a week or two in late June (probably).
So...yeah...It's 5 o'clock right ....now. Last week I set some strawberries to soak in some lemon vodka. Today, I added the lemonade. Much of this post might not make sense. I'm okay with that.
Also, there's sake, but I want to be mostly-conscious for tonight's episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures (AMANDA YOU MUST WATCH THIS!!!!!) and Battlestar (also this, but you knew that already, (holy shit they're going to unbox the 3's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)).
Um. Yeah. Strawberry Lemon Vodka Yumminess.
WE'RE GOING THE WRONG WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I swear the director told her, "play this one like a 3 year old in a tantrum" FUN!)

Around 20% of the pages on your website contain cussing. This is 150% MORE than other websites who took this test.
Do they count things like "I fraking love The Battlestar Galactica!!!!!!!!!!!!!"? If not, their count is off.

I may be excited.
I made some fairly kick-ass cinnamon rolls last night, mostly from scratch, which took nearly 4 hours. The recipe should be up at RecipeZaar.com eventually, and when that happens I will post a link. They're made with a 10-Grain bread mix, and I've eaten 6 so far, so I may never poo again. I'll let you know.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA'S FINAL SEASON STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
Rigel is cute and cuddly, and only has 2 more flight feathers to grow out. I'll take some pictures this weekend so you can see how pretty blue they are. We went through a bit of bloody ordeal at the vet because I wanted to find out his real gender, and they did that while trimming his toenails. He was such a good bird, though. We find out in about a week, and I'm trimming his nails myself from now on.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA'S FINAL SEASON STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
I have a Calculus test tomorrow morning. I am fairly unprepared, but there will be more studying this afternoon. For real. No seriously. Oh shut up, you never believe me. :P
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA'S FINAL SEASON STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
School is generally good right now. I'm still waffling on what to do this summer, but I'm probably taking Medieval Lit and Technical Writing during Second Summer. That fills my advanced requirement for the minor, and I just need one more course. I can wait and hope that the new Professional Editing course doesn't conflict with my Physics schedule when/if it comes available. If it doesn't then I can always stick an easy lit class in my schedule and be done. I think that's the plan, but I still have to run it by my Advisor.
Oh , also, in case you were unaware, the best show currently on television will start its final season tomorrow. I'm kinda excited.

However, if you would like a humorous refresher on the series so far, and to get a little pumped for the upcoming season, this is the best.

BSG Speculation
Amanda, stop reading here, until you've watched Season 3. Go now, shoo...
Ok. Via Shakesville (by way of Entertainment Weekly) we have the a "last supper" type photo of the cast and a list of 10 hints. I'm only interested in #10 and #7. Go check out the image first, though.
10. The Missing Figure. Someone is indeed absent from the table admits Moore: “We have not yet revealed the final [unknown] Cylon.” Does that mean the people already at the table aren’t the final Cylon? Moore laughs, “you ferreted that our pretty slyly. I didn’t really want to give that away.”
Begin Rampant Speculation (no life, thanks for asking). Ok so the order of the image is Pres. Roslin, Leader Six, Col. Tigh, Unknown, Lee Adama, Baltar, Head Six, Starbuck, Anders, Chief Tyrol, Athena, Helo, Adm. Adama. My Top 3 guesses for The Final Cylon are
1) Cally: because hint #7 tells us: His child with Cally would seem to be the second human-Cylon hybrid and hints Moore, “one should consider the knife in his hand in that context. It has been pretty key in this story that the reason cylons still need humans is because they can't have kids, and they believe the missing ingredient is love. Thus the big deal that Athena(cylon) and Helo(human) had a baby. The next step is a fully cylon baby: Nicolas Tyrol.
2) Ellen Fucking Tigh: because I hate her and wanted so bad for her to Digh-Digh-Digh that I know they would bring her back as a cylon just to piss me off. Also, the empty space is between Col Tigh and Lee Adama, and all the other characters are in some way paired in significant ways so it just makes sense.
3) Duala: I highly doubt this one, but it follows from the previous reasoning. The hints say something about Lee as Judas-like? but I'm not exactly sure what that means, and I won't presume to try.
And again, what is up with the numbering system? It has been annoying me since late Season 1. I'm assuming
1 = Cavil
2 = Leobon
3 = Xena
4 = Simon
5 = Doral
6 = Shelly/Gina/Head/etc...
7 = .......Cally? (no super-special number for the Big Unknown Final Cylon?)
8 = Athena/Valleri (she's the one who messes up a reasonable numbering system)
9 - 12 = Saul Tigh, Sam Anders, Galen Tyrol, Tory Foster
Or maybe Unknown(Cally) is #12 and the other 4 are just randomly placed.
Nobody but me cares, I know.

BSG: Incomplete
this via http://www.battlestargalacticasite.com/.
"I refuse to believe that we won't finish, that we won't be back to film our final stories, but I know and accept there is that possibility," Moore wrote on his new official blog. "I am ready to put the rest of the story on the table and take the risk that I'll never be able to tell it, in support of this strike."
I am now a Sad Bunny(tm) indeed. *tear*

Random Links
So anyway, I moved on to finding some gadget to help me find (or maybe not lose) my keys. A few months back, I bought a cute box for Michael to put his wallet and keys and random pocket items in. It is now a bottomless pit of receipts, and the general clutter has overflowed to the counter again. I'm considering one for myself, but first I'm going to investigate my options.
I found the KeyRinger, which is of a fair price and the two tags find each other, no remote. Then there's the pricey option: The Loc8tor. Need I say more? I found a low-tech, low cost solution at The Container Store. Its a khaki doorknob hanger with pockets and a clip for keys. I'm not sure if my wallet is skinny enough for it, but it would keep the Paper-Pile Monster from growing within. I turned to Amazon.com and found two things similar to the Loc8tor, but less expensive and complicated. They are, um, at the top of my

Of course I suppose its time to tell you all about the hours I spent holiday decorating. Yeah. It seems there are so many holidays during this chilly season to keep people from killing each other, and look what christmas has done, turned into a holiday that makes people want to kill each other, while giving them an excuse to hold hammers. Its just a horrible loop. I started hanging my little snowflake strand, but the nails i was using were too short for me to hammer into the wall, so they kept falling to the floor. At nail #4, i threw down the hammer and declared "The Season" was over, because it ends the moment it begins to annoy me. Anyway, I ended up hanging Michael's stocking (mine is packed somewhere) and sitting out the green sparkle teddy bear and the little stuffed snowman on either side of the tv, and the rest of the shit stayed in the holiday gift bag it was being stored in, now "decorating" the spot between the TV and fireplace.
Thats the end of my holiday decorating.

Battlestar Galactica
[Tyrol is working on Starbuck's captured cylon raider]
Starbuck: What seems to be the trouble, Chief?
Chief Tyrol: Well, your new boyfriend's a bit of a jerk, sir.
Starbuck:: It's a girl.
Chief Tyrol: Well, if you don't mind her goo all over your face, you're welcome to her, sir.
Starbuck: Bitch took my ride!
Starbuck: Permission to speak off the record, sir?
Tigh: Granted.
Starbuck: You're a bastard.
Apollo: What's the charge this time?
Starbuck: Striking a superior asshole.
Starbuck: I thought you were dead.
Apollo: I thought you were in hack.
Starbuck: It's good to be wrong.
Apollo: You should be used to that by now.
Starbuck: Everyone's got a skill.
D'anna Biers: You seem to think that your pilots deserve special consideration.
Apollo: Actually, I do. Like everyone else, my pilots have lost their families, their friends, everyone they ever cared about; but on top of that they're asked to put their lives on the line every single day, for a fleet that seems more interested in what they do wrong than in what they do right. They're not asking for your pity, but they damn well deserve your respect.
Col. Saul Tigh: This is a military vessel, we have rumors for every occasion.
Lt. Gaeta: Sir, I'm running every diagnostic we've got. Checking each line of code could take days.
Col. Tigh: I am not interested in excuses. Fix it.
Lt. Gaeta: It's not an excuse, sir. It's a fracking fact!
Starbuck: Starbuck to all Vipers - do not fire... repeat, do not fire! I am a friendly, okay? We're all friendlies. So, let's just... be friendly.
ChiefTyrol: What do you want to do now, Captain?
Starbuck: The same thing we always do. Fight them until we can't.

| REDEYE'S CHARACTER WARS |
..>..>..>..>..>..>
UPDATE: Come back later for a personal thank you from Katee Sackhoff, aka Capt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace.
In the end, it wasn't even close.
Capt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace of "Battlestar Galactica" routed Jack Bauer of "24" to win the title match of RedEye's "Best Character on TV" tournament.
The final tally: Starbuck finished with 3061 votes while Bauer brought in 777 votes.
To everybody who spent part of their days and nights here over the past three weeks, everybody at RedEye thanks you.
But the biggest thanks go to all the wonderful actors and actresses who have created such tremendous characters and who have brought so many people so much entertainment.
Until next year's tournament…
Cheers,
RedEye

A Day in the Life, Day 2, Take 2
Why and Why did I forget Monday? I knew I would start forgetting the days, but I didn't expect it to start so soon. Gzeesh.
How have I spent it? Showered, loaded the dishwasher, burnt toast, made a pb&j sandwich (with new toast), some hot cocoa, Colbert Report, some blog reading, some BSG article reading (Moore says the 2-hour fall 'movie' will actually be 2 episodes with main cast backstory
I have a test today at 12:30pm (<--do you see the colon!?) for which I have not studied enough yet. Colbert is almost over. Oop! Its over.
Okay okay I'll study! Get off my ass, people!

Can't Resist
Random question:
The other night my hubby had a dream that he reached over to put his arm around me and his hand fell into the bed. An abyss in the bed. He wakes up, starts feeling around the bedsheets saying "Where is it!?" over and over. Where is what? "The Ghost Hole" You were dreaming, go back to sleep.
Question: Is my husband a cylon sleeper agent?
I CANNOT STAND THE WAITING AND WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I Am A Geek...
Oh wow, I think I win in regards to talking about BSG too much, at least at work. I just had a going away party thrown form me at the local IHOP. My coworkers gave me an awesome plaque, which I'll post a picture of if I can find the right camera cable.
Anyway, its glass and the inscription reads:
"Don't let the frakin'
door hit you in the rear
as you venture out toward
your unknown destiny!
You will always be
part of our family.
The top has the BSG phoenix symbol, and the bottom has the usual name and date stuff. I'm a happy geek, and only slightly embarrassed that they read it aloud in the IHOP.
Anyway, who is up for a season finale party this weekend? Me!

Sure Can Smell the Rain
Okay. Awesome, right? Yup, me too, I loved it. I mean, damn. Every movie that has such excessive boobage should also include a minimum of 300 gleaming muscular men wearing nothing but capes and those underwear pants. King Leonidis also has very interesting teeth.
I'm still trying to remember the name of the very strange SF book I read many years ago, in which modern historians and scientists end up traveling back in time and helping the Spartans win at Thermopylae. It was strange.
Besides seeing the movie and the weather being great, Saturday kinda sucked. Michael's buddies threw him a little party because he's moving to another office. We played Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture. It dragged on forever. We quit. Un-fun. The thick juicy burgers I bought, burnt to charcoal by the grillmaster. I survived for 5 hours on ruffles and ranch dip before getting said coal-burger.
Today I made myself an egg-ina-hole for breakfast at noon. Drove over to the yardsale location and hung out for a few hours. Made $40. I have some paperwork to do tonight or I won't be able to quit my job. Also, a shadowbox for someone else in my shop. Glue gun + TJ = burn, so that should be fun. BSG is on tonight, I can't forget to watch that.
I'm hungry.
End.

Please enjoy the geekiness.
In Sanskrit:
Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
Tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
Bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt
Alternatively:
Aum bhoor bhuwah swaha
Tat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasaya dheemahi
Dhiyo yo naha prachodayat
Translation:
Oh God! Thou art the Giver of Life,
Remover of pain and sorrow,
The Bestower of happiness,
Oh! Creator of the Universe,
May we receive thy supreme sin-destroying light,
May Thou guide our intellect in the right direction

They put their trust in me
To lead them to salvation
To earth
But the truth is
We're on the brink of extinction
Our enemy is amongst us
Lies are tearing us apart
Suspicion and doubt will be the downfall of humanity
Because trust, trust will betray you
